Disco, Occasionally. singer first proclaimed his love for this sensual scent back in 2017, and we’ve no doubt it’s served him well in the years since. Inspired by the private gentlemen’s clubs of London, it combines smoky, spicy and sweet notes in a sophisticated blend. In three words? Rich, delicious, sexy. (And if you’re wondering about his girlfriend, Catwoman herself Zoë Kravitz? She’s been loyal to Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium EDP for decades – so much so, they made her the face of it!)

Pop superstar Dua Lipa is not only the face of this Yves Saint Laurent fragrance – she also helped develop it! Combining Moroccan orange blossom with French lavender, it’s a bold yet sensual scent that’s a certified compliment generator (and a staple for nights out and special occasions). Sweet – but not too sweet – long-lasting and spirit-lifting, no wonder Lipa called it her “forever” scent in 2019. An instant classic.

Asked to name her 10 ‘can’t live without’ essentials by GQ , the singer and Oscar-nominated actor had to include her fragrance collection. “This is the thing I’m most mad about sharing, because I do gatekeep my smells,” she admitted, before revealing the details of her scent-layering routine: not one, but two roll-on oils from Le Labo, followed by spritzes of Tom Ford’s Rose Prick EDP. The result is a totally unique concoction: musky, smoky, spicy and woody, underpinned by opulent rose. If there was an Oscar for Best Fragrance Layering, we’d give her the trophy every time!

Giving British Vogue a peek inside her bag earlier this year, the Australian Bridgerton star revealed her beauty essentials – among them, a travel-sized spritz of her signature scent: DIPTYQUE Orphéon EDP. Inspired by a jazz bar in Paris’ bohemian Saint-Germain district in the 1960s, with notes of juniper, jasmine, smoky tobacco and burnished wood, it’s the kind of instantly distinctive scent that leaves a lasting impression (dare we say, like The Lady In Silver!). “When it comes to fragrance, I love Frédéric Malle’s Rose & Cuir,” style icon Alexa told Savoir Flair. A unique, ‘uncompromisingly modern’ floral, it’s the rose scent for people who aren’t usually drawn to rose (the name translates to ‘rose and leather’). Think fresher and earthier, rather than delicate and pretty – it layers the green, fresh note of geranium with woodsy vetiver and cedar, bourbon and, of course, leather. An addition to Alexa’s fragrance wardrobe that matches her actual wardrobe.

If you were expecting something a little more indie sleaze from the Brat singer, get ready for a surprise: she’s a devotee of Scandi-chic minimalist fragrance house BYREDO, and her “current favourite scent” is the library-inspired Bibliothèque. "People have said I tend to over-spray, but that's their problem, not mine, because I think it smells great," Charli told British GQ. Luxurious and lingering, this is a cosy, sophisticated scent with notes of plum, vanilla and leather.

Alongside the exact shade of her signature red lipstick, the next most-asked beauty question by Swifties is, ‘What does Taylor Swift smell like?’ Naturally, fans have cracked the code, noticing a bottle of Tom Ford’s Santal Blush resting on her vanity during the 2020 documentary Miss Americana, and reportedly confirmed as her signature scent at the MTV VMAs in 2024. Described as “exotic spices enhanced with luxe ylang ylang, warm cinnamon, and sumptuous woods seducing with a modern, second-skin warmth” it’s the type of scent that gets stuck in your head, just like a Taylor song.
Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams – Le Labo AnOther 13 EDP
In a video for GQ, Hamnet actor Paul described AnOther 13 as “delicious” adding, “I bought this for somebody's wrap gift… and I stole it for myself.” A collaboration between New York fragrance house Le Labo and British fashion publication AnOther Magazine, it’s an iconic ‘skin scent’ grounded in musky Ambroxan and ambrette seeds. Paul’s other half, singer Gracie Abrams, also wears the scent, saying, “It makes me feel like I’m at home.” (And she’s also a DIPTYQUE fan, spritzing the delicate white floral Olène EDT.)
Olivia Rodrigo – Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 EDP
Sharing her top 10 essentials with GQ, the singer revealed it was love at first smell when she encountered the iconic Baccarat Rouge 540, saying: "I never was super into perfumes before I smelled this one, and I'm like, ‘This is the one for me.’" So deep is her love for this rich, sensual amber-floral – with its notes of caramelised sugar, jasmine and saffron – she burns its matching candle at home. A very good idea, right?
Tyla – BYREDO Mojave Ghost EDP
Revealing the essentials she always carries with her to British Vogue, the South African singer listed snacks, her AirPods and… BYREDO’s Mojave Ghost, saying: “I do mix perfumes, but this is kind of the base that I always use.” Inspired by an exotic, desert-blooming flower, the scent is a warm, woody floral that’s still fresh. Gigi Hadid – Tom Ford Lost Cherry EDP
She has one of the most extensive fragrance wardrobes ever – and we’d expect no less from supermodel Gigi! Posting a photo of her bathroom shelves on social media, eagle-eyed fans noted multiple bottles from Le Labo and Jo Malone London, as well as Tom Ford’s iconic Lost Cherry (all layered over Augustinus Bader The Body Cream, naturally). It’s described as “forbidden fruit that smells good enough to eat”, with notes of syrupy black cherries, bitter almond, rose absolute and roasted tonka bean.
