About the Archive
We’re on a mission to build the world’s largest living collection of beauty culture.
The MECCA Archive is designed to make space for voices too often left out of beauty’s official record. We’re seeking stories from migrant communities, everyday entrepreneurs, First Nations perspectives, products of the past, working women’s experiences, and 21st Century womanhood – you can read more about these gaps here.
Share your story with our curation team and help us build a living history of beauty that reflects its true diversity. Please note that any submissions must agree to the terms and conditions, outlined in full below.

21st Century Girl is the first chapter in our evolving Archive, and we invite you to co-author it with us. We’re collecting real stories, reflections, rituals and memories. You can contribute a story, photo, audio file or video that shares:
- Your favourite or most powerful beauty moment
- How beauty has shaped or changed you
- Or, a reflection on how beauty shows up in your life today

We work with creators, researchers, writers and cultural commentators to help grow the MECCA Archive. We’re always on the lookout for stories, new perspectives and voices to help shape our collection, with a key focus on addressing the gaps we’ve identified.
By submitting your content (including your personal information), you agree that MECCA may collect and use your personal information for the purposes of curating and featuring contributions in the MECCA Archive and related promotional activities, and to contact you if we wish to follow up on your submission. Your content submission is also voluntary, and some or all of your content may be published on our website or other MECCA channels and may be edited.
