If you’ve been lucky enough to experience an Aman resort – the chain of ultra-luxury properties with a devoted following for their enviable locations and ‘anything is possible’ level of service – you’ll know that there’s a moment at the end of your stay when you realise how different you feel.
Your chest isn’t so tight. Your shoulders may have dropped a few centimetres. There are significantly less tabs open in your brain. And then you arrive home to relentless Teams messages, traffic and to-do lists – and the tightness returns instantly.
Or, for those who haven’t yet visited, offer “a small but tangible piece of the wellness and wellbeing philosophy that defines Aman”: “As our guests began seeking ways to continue that sense of peace beyond our resorts, Aman Essentials emerged as a natural evolution, an extension of the Aman experience into everyday life,” Romanova explains.

Launched in 2018 and developed with their award-winning in-house spas, Aman offers that same attention-to-detail and full-body rejuvenation worldly travellers could once only access during a stay at an Aman resort. “Each product meets you where you are, creating small rituals that bring the calm, clarity and harmony of Aman into daily life,” Romanova says.

To bring her vision to life, Romanova partnered with Japanese skincare giant KOSÉ, a collaboration that she says felt entirely natural: “Japan has a centuries-long tradition of ritualised skincare and a deep respect for caring for the skin,” she tells us. “[KOSÉ’s] expertise in both this heritage and cutting-edge skincare science allowed us to translate the Aman philosophy into products that are effective, sensorial and nurturing.”
Romanova reveals that even the bottles were created with intention, designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma celebrate “harmony with nature, subtlety and a deep respect for materials, reflecting both architecture and a contemplative, simplistic way of being – qualities at the heart of Aman’s philosophy.”

There are three ‘rituals’ or edits in the collection; the inspiration for each, Romanova says, comes from the landscapes and spirit of the resorts. “‘Grounding’ evokes the stillness of desert mornings at Amangiri [in Utah, USA], soothing restlessness and restoring inner harmony. ‘Purifying’ channels the crisp, invigorating air of Aman Tokyo, detoxifying and refreshing both skin and mind. ‘Nourishing’ captures the lush vitality of tropical gardens at Amanpuri [in Phuket, Thailand], repairing, hydrating and revitalising the senses,” she explains. “It’s these experiences, where time slows, and the mind, body and soul are fully present, that we wanted to capture and translate into products that bring a sense of calm, grounding and renewal into everyday life.”
