Lara Worthington is the owner of one of Australia’s most recognisable faces. And today – 17 years, three children and several international moves after she first shot to fame as a teen model – it’s never looked better. Genuinely.

Her secret to that ethereal glow (see also: her Instagram)? A simple skincare routine she can “actually manage to do… every morning and night”, courtesy of Aotearoa (New Zealand)-born brand Emma Lewisham, of which she’s an ambassador (and close friend of its eponymous founder).

Here, Worthington shares a slice of her (sometimes chaotic) life, the Emma Lewisham product that changed everything for her skin and the best piece of beauty advice she’s ever received…

Where are you right now?

“I’m currently living in New York, and I’m at home with my family in our lounge.”

What are you currently working on?

“A few exciting projects for my business. I’m excited to share more about them soon!"

How would you describe your style?

“I don’t know if I have one particular style, per se; I guess I like to keep it fluid. I like to keep my beauty routine pared back, so I can actually manage to do it every morning and night. I only use a few products that have a visible impact on my skin or protect it. I like to wear what naturally comes to me and feels right at the time, I just have fun with it.”

Describe your morning and evening skincare routine…

"The mornings are usually pretty full-on sorting out the kids. I try to drink as much water as I can when I first wake up, and then I will just help the boys get ready for the day because then I can do what I need to do. If I’m leaving the house, I might wash my face if I feel like it needs it; otherwise, I will just use SPF.

“I try to work out every day; I like heated Pilates and hot yoga. My skin is the best when my whole body feels in sync. At night, I will let my phone die and take a hot bath if I can. I spend more time on my skin then too; I use the Emma Lewisham Illuminating Oil Cleanser and Skin Reset Serum, then alternate between the Supernatural Face Crème Riche or the Supernatural Sleeping Mask to lock it all in.”

We hear you were using Emma Lewisham before you became the ambassador for the brand. What was it that initially attracted you?

“I was one of the first people in Australia to use Emma’s products. I always admired the brand’s ethos and loved how it worked with my skin. It naturally evolved into a partnership. Our values align really nicely with each other.

"Emma is incredibly smart and well-researched; she knows the market and her business inside and out. I learn a lot from Emma. We both have a strong passion for the environment and giving back – it’s what we bond most about, I think.

“I can literally ask her almost anything about skincare and life, and she’ll have the perfect answer. I’ve used the Skin Reset Serum for years to help treat my pigmentation, and I love the Supernatural Sleeping Mask – it feels like a facial.”

What’s your advice to feel your most beautiful?

“Firstly, stay in tune with your body – it’s important to relax and find balance; being stressed out takes a toll. Move your body daily; working out with your friends is always easy. I also like surfing and spending time in the ocean – I used to do surfing lessons when I lived in LA! Surround yourself with good people. And in terms of skincare, know what works for your skin and keep it consistent.”

What is the best beauty advice you’ve ever received?

“Probably to wear less makeup!” [Laughs]

What’s your best beauty tip to give?

“Don’t sit in the sun! Wear SPF every day.”

Where do you go for skin treatments in New York?

“I recently had a facial at Onda Beauty and loved it. I also see [dermatologist] Dr Marnie B Nussbaum for any skin concerns.”

Where are you travelling next?

“Paris, for work.”

What are you most looking forward to?

“Going away for a few months across Europe for the [northern hemisphere] summer with my family. It’s this special family time I cherish and look forward to; life is so fast, it’s nice to slow down and take it all in.”

“I pretty much take all of them! [Laughs] I also find The Emma Lewisham Essentials minis really handy to travel with if I’m tight on baggage – and they’re a great gift too.”
