What MECCA’s Finance Team Are Spending Their Returns On

While the 6’5”, blue-eyed variety is great, what we love in a man in finance is sound beauty investments. With tax time’s potential refunds nearly here, we wanted to know which buys were on the MECCA Finance Team’s beauty balance sheets. From a splurge (looking at YOU Dyson Nural™) to restocking the old faithfuls, these are the beauty portfolio adjustments we’re making this EOFY.
Claire, Commercial Business Partner
Claire is first restocking the “peel pads [that] never disappoint”, Dr. Dennis Gross’ Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel. She recommends “using twice a week” for ultra-smooth, radiant skin
And on the subject of skin, Claire’s will be looking even brighter with an investment serum: Allies of Skin 20% Vitamin C Brighten + Firm Serum. “I've been meaning to add vitamin C to my daily routine,” she told us.
As for makeup, it’s Chantecaille Lip Chic – which Claire loves for its easy, no-mirror-needed application.
Adit, Financial Planning and Analyst
As an Analyst, we trust Adit’s judgement – and Maison Crivelli Hibiscus Mahajád Extrait De Parfum came as his fragrance choice. He’s a “big fan” of this “floral and unique” fragrance, and after our first spritz, we understand!
Diversifying his options in the skin space, he’s “heard really great things about” Emma Lewisham and is “keen to give a go” to her Supernatural Vitale Face Elixir (read our Senior Beauty Writer’s rave review, here).
Perhaps his best ‘skinvestment’ is in MECCA Cosmetica’s To Save Face SPF50+ Superscreen. “I love this sunscreen and use it everyday,” Adit tells us.
Ben, Head of Commercial Finance
Ben’s focus this financial year is fragrance. Firstly, a Diptyque legend: the Baies Large Outdoor Candle 1500g. “Love the scent and the pot is stunning,” he says (bonus: this a home décor investment, too!).
He’s also nabbing Le Labo’s AnOther 13 EDP: “I've tried it out before and the scent turns heads.”
And finally, a serum that’s been “the talk of the MECCA office”: Dr. Dennis Gross’ DermInfusions™ 3D Visible Fill + Repair Serum. “I’ve been told this product delivers!” he adds.
Grace, Commercial Analyst
Given Grace “appreciates a simple skincare routine”, she’s focused on a multitasking investment: Allies of Skin Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment [V-059514], which is a moisturiser and age-defying treatment in one. “This do-it-all product is right up my alley!” she tells us.
Westman Atelier’s illuminating favourite, the Liquid Super Loaded Tint in ‘Peau de Peche’, is next on Grace’s list: “It’s versatile, glowy and can be mixed with moisturiser and foundation!”
Finally, another Maison Crivelli pick: Tubéreuse Astrale Extrait De Parfum (as spotted in supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s bag) – a splurge that Grace justifies given “one spray lasts all day”.
Penny, Commercial Business Partner
A testament to the power of word of mouth at MECCA HQ, Penny is, like Ben, investing in Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions™ 3D Visible Fill + Repair Serum, adding, “This product has been so hyped around the office.”
Next up is a restock of her “can’t-live-without” base, NARS Light Reflecting Foundation.
And finally, an investment that will pay hair dividends: Dyson’s Supersonic Nural™ Intelligent Hair Dryer, which auto-adapts to help protect your hair and scalp. Given her old dryer has seen better days, Penny calls the Dyson “a welcome upgrade”.
