Before Hunter Schafer appeared on our screens as Jules Vaughn in HBO’s Euphoria, she had modelled for Marc Jacobs and Dior, had been identified by Teen Vogue as one of "21 under 21 changing the world", and had challenged North Carolina’s ‘bathroom bill’ – a law that failed to recognise the experiences of, and systemic challenges faced by, gender-diverse people.
Once the glitter-struck teen-dream drama streamed in 2019, her fate as a face of the future – and of beauty – was set. Shiseido, one of the oldest yet most future-focused beauty brands, were quick to sign Schafer on to lead their brand into a new era of expression, innovation and change. The actor’s simple approach to beauty, contrasted with a striking take on fashion and desire to leave her people and her places better off – make this makeup partnership one for the (beauty) books.

“Headphones! Particularly the string ones; I don’t trust myself to keep a wireless headset charged, and I’m also way less likely to lose headphones that physically connect to my other gadgets.”

“My bathroom! I’ve never had a proper facial treatment before and don’t plan on doing so until it seems necessary. For now, I’ll stick to moisturising in the comfort of my home.”
6. My ultimate indulgence is…
“Archive clothes. I’ve been very fortunate to build a beautiful collection of archival pieces from my favourite designers, and I find it hard to stop myself from adding to it when magical pieces present themselves to me.”
7. My latest beauty discovery is…
“That I am no longer as fearful of wearing a lip as I thought I was. There was a point in time where I wouldn’t let my makeup artist put anything on my lips at all, and I’ve finally found the comfort and fun in utilising a great lip colour to bring my look to life.”

“Shiseido’s Revitalessence Skin Glow Foundation. It’s my absolute favourite and has SPF30, which is a big win for me as someone who is very susceptible to sunburn.”
